Ensuring responsible sourcing that respects Human Rights and the Environment.

28 February 2020

The European Commission published on February 24, 2020 the results of a study on due diligence obligations of companies both in their operations and in supply chains.

Launched in December 2018 as part of the Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth to explore possible regulatory developments in this area, the study notes that only one in three companies in the EU is performing due diligence on human rights and environmental impacts throughout the supply chain and shows that there is a need for EU-wide legislation for the integration of sustainability into corporate governance standards to achieve this objective.
