Responsible minerals and metals: on March 22, 2022 the National Competent Authority published the Directorial Decree that regulates the ex-post checks process on EU importers

The Italian Ministry of Economic Development - Directorate General for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises - has issued a Directorial Decree which defines the operating procedures for carrying out the ex post checks on Union importers who fall within the scope of the (EU) Regulation (EU) 2017/821 , which will be carried out by the National Competent Authority.

The Directorial Decree outlines the scope of application of the ex post checks; it presents the role of the auditors who will be in charge, the investigation procedure; the core of the ex post checks and the methods of  execution managed via the backend section of the web platform of the National Competent Authority, which will be activated soon.

The Directorial Decree, entered into force on the 22nd March 2022, is published on the web platform of the National Competent Authority.

The public announcement relating to the Directorial Decree has been published in the Italian Official Journal, General Series, n.75 of the 30 of March 2022.
