Rome, 10 November 2025

On the 5th of November 2025, the Italian National Contact Point (NCP) for Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) of the OECD, participated to the CNEL and the interministerial Center for Businesses and Human Rights (CIDU) Seminar entitled: “National Action Plans on Business and Human Rights. A Focus on Labour Issues”, hosted by National Council for Economics and Labour (CNEL), in the beautiful Meuccio Ruini Meeting Room at the CNEL Headquarter in Rome.

The event, co-organised with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), was dedicated to an in-depth discussion of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and Italy’s contribution through its National Action Plans (2016–2021; 2021–2026), also in view of the upcoming UN Annual Forum on Business and Human Rights (24–26 November 2025) and the drafting process of the third National Action Plan, scheduled for 2026.

During the seminar, the Italian NCP presented its contribution to CIDU implementing some of the first and second Italian National Action Plans on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR), collaborating to the drafting of the third NAP currently underway, and its participation to the Expert Group on Business and Human Rights (GLIDU), promoting the OECD Guidelines, the handling of specific instances, institutional coordination, and its role in ensuring policy coherence in supporting Italian companies in adopting responsible business conduct and due diligence, with the aim of making both the national and global economy increasingly inclusive, responsible, and sustainable.
