VICENZAORO 2019 VISIO.NEXT: SPREADING SUSTAINABILITY (Vicenza, 7th Septemper 2019)
Vicenzaoro 2019: the inaugural round table of VISIO. NEXT will be "Spreading Sustainability": spreading the culture of sustainability, communicating its importance and looking at the best practices of companies. From responsible sourcing issues to the need to be informed about the new European regulation soon in place for gold sector industry, to a practical reflection on risks, costs and benefits for companies that choose the sustainability.
As National Competent Authority responsible for implementing the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, the Ministry of Economic Development participates to the event to provide information and answer business questions. Starting from 1st January 2021 the EU Regulation foresees specific obligations for companies in relation to management systems, risk assessment, audits of independent third parties, as well as disclosure and report information to prevent or mitigate negative impacts in sourcing activities from conflict or high risk areas.
The Ministry of Economic Development is supporting companies with guidance and assistance tools to ensure transparency and security in the sourcing practices of mineral and metal importers, including gold, which fall within the scope of the European regulation.
