OECD: New Guidance Published for the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Rome, 20 March 2026

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released new Guidance on due diligence for the responsible development and management of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The document serves as an operational reference for organizations aiming to adopt AI systems in an ethical, safe manner and in line with major international standards.

The full Guidance is available at the following link: OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible AI | OECD

An online tool to support businesses and organizations

To accompany the Guidance, the OECD is developing a dedicated Online Tool designed to help companies navigate the various international AI risk‑management frameworks. The tool will allow users to directly compare these frameworks with the recommendations included in the new Guidance, thereby facilitating the practical application of principles of responsibility and transparency.
The tool is expected to be launched during the OECD Week for the 50th Anniversary of Responsible Business Conduct, scheduled from 29 June to 3 July 2026.

Continuous updates and new content

The Online Tool will be regularly updated with:

  • emerging examples of AI‑related risks,
  • case studies,
  • research findings,
  • links to other frameworks and international resources.

These updates will be informed by ongoing OECD analysis and consultation activities in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with the aim of providing increasingly comprehensive and up‑to‑date support to businesses, public bodies and stakeholders.
