Sustainability in the fashion industry: UNECE-SDA Bocconi Regional Workshop 21-23 September 2021 Milan, Italy and Livestreaming

UNECE and the Monitor for Circular Fashion, Sustainability Lab of SDA Bocconi School of Management are organising a workshop on “Accelerating action for the sustainable and circular garment and footwear industry of the future – Harnessing the potential of innovation for due diligence and informed consumers’ choices” during the Milan Fashion Week. This event is a three-day online conference and will enable participants to share findings and take part in practical trainings on standards for improved traceability and transparency in the world of fashion. The conference will also present two new initiatives: the UN’s Sustainabilty Pledge and the Sustainability Lab of SDA Bocconi School of Management’s Circular Fashion Manifesto

During the morning session of the 21st of September h 10,15 -11.00 “UNECE Policy Recommendation for enhancing traceability and transparency of sustainable value chains in the garment and footwear sector", Ms. Maria Benedetta Francesconi, Head of Division VI of the Directorate for Industrial Policy, Innovation and SMEs from the Ministry of Economic Development will deliver a speech on how to use blockchain for traceability of goods, in order to harness the potential of innovation for due diligence and informed consumers’ choices.
