ASviS Report 2020

The ASviS 2020 Report was presented on the 8 of October 2020 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on the occasion of the closing event of the Sustainable Development Festival.
The event was attended, in the presence and with video interventions, by the Minister Luigi Di Maio, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giuseppe Conte, the UN Deputy Secretary General, Amina J. Mohammed, the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs, Paolo Gentiloni, the General Commissioner for Italy at Expo 2020 Dubai, Paolo Glisenti, and the President of the National Youth Council Maria Cristina Pisani.
The President of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) Pierluigi Stefanini and the Spokesperson Enrico Giovannini, by means of the 2020 Report, presented a Country strongly lagging behind in too many sectors that are crucial for the transition: Italy has improved and is on a good path for achieving only 5 out of 17 Goals. Our Country is among the 193 Countries that have signed the United Nations 2030 Agenda and ASviS, with its Analysis Report, offers reflections and suggestions, asks for a great commitment in the economic, social and environmental fields and recommends policies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Premier Giuseppe Conte remarked that in order to face the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the Italian Government is committed to implement strategies for recovery the resilience and, thanks to the Next Generation EU Fund, it will give a change of pace and acceleration towards a model of sustainable and socially inclusive environmental development.
The ASviS Report is published every year at the beginning of autumn and is developed with the contribution of the Working Groups, made up of the experts of the Alliance Members
